Frequently
Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about LANCS.
What is LANCS?
LANCS is a community app for active people across Lancashire. You can discover local sports activities, join clubs, connect with other athletes, and host your own sessions — all in one place.
Is it free to use?
Yes. Creating a profile and joining activities is completely free. There is no subscription required to use the core features of LANCS.
What sports does LANCS cover?
LANCS supports running, walking, cycling, hiking and general group activities. More sport types are being added as the community grows.
Which areas does LANCS cover?
LANCS is built for Lancashire — covering Preston, Blackburn, Burnley, Lancaster, Chorley, Blackpool, Clitheroe, Morecambe, Accrington and every town across the county.
How do I get early access?
LANCS is currently invite-only while we grow the community. Sign up on the homepage and you will be invited when your access is ready.
I run a sports club — can I get my club listed?
Yes. Sports clubs can create a club profile on LANCS, list their schedule, manage membership and reach new members across Lancashire. Get in touch via the contact page to get verified.
Can I host my own activities?
Yes. Any LANCS member can create and host group activities — runs, walks, rides, hikes, or events — and invite the local community to join.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes. LANCS is available on iOS & Android. The app includes a live activity map, route planner, club management, and messaging.
How is LANCS different from Facebook Groups or Strava clubs?
LANCS is built specifically for local, in-person activities. It is not a social network or fitness tracker — it is a tool for organising and discovering real group activities happening near you.
